About to depart Hill Top Hotel, the only one in Bhulbhule (3,400m)
A dusting of snow and frost overnight provided a lovely scene as we walked in the chill morning
Here, from left, Dragkar Go, Bigphera Go Nup, Likhu Chuli, Number Chuli, Kathang and Karyolung appear through swirling cloud

Many villages dotted the hillsides in every direction. It was fascinating to see this at ground level after having flown over it on many flights between Kathmandu and Lukla
Terraced hillsides added much beauty and affirmed the centuries of farming work done in the region
About to enter upper Dhap (3,040m)
Dawn was crystal clear. Here Gauri Sankar just breaks the left skyline to the right of the flattened bats ears of Pikey Peak West and East. Then Ramdang Go, Tsobje, Bigphera Go Nup, Likhu Chuli, Number Chuli, Kathang and Karyolung complete the centre skyline. To the right Mt Everest and Makalu stand out with their sunlit jet stream clouds
